Privacy policy
Last updated: April 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how EyeVida ("EyeVida," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit eyevida.com, purchase our products, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the "Services").
We've attempted to write everything in plain English. If anything is unclear, please contact us at privacy@eyevida.com.
1. Who We Are
EyeVida is a direct-to-consumer beauty product brand based in the United States. We sell EyeVida® Beauty Replacement Cues — adhesive stickers designed to help consumers track when to replace opened beauty products. EyeVida is a registered trademark.
Mailing address: 1520 E. Covell Blvd., PMB 510, Davis, CA 95616
Email: privacy@eyevida.com (privacy requests) · support@eyevida.com (general inquiries)
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.
Information you give us:
-
Contact information — your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number (if you provide it).
-
Order and transaction information — products purchased, payment method confirmation (we do not store full card numbers — Shopify and our payment processors handle this), order history, returns and exchanges, and any communications about your order.
-
Account information — if you create an account, your username, password (stored in encrypted form), and saved preferences.
-
Marketing preferences — your decisions about email and (in the future) text message communications.
-
Customer service correspondence — anything you write to us via email, contact form, social media DMs, or chat.
Information we collect automatically:
-
Device and browser information — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, language, and referring URL.
-
Usage information — pages viewed, time spent, click patterns, items added to cart, search queries on our site, and how you arrived at our site.
-
Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 6 below for our complete cookie disclosure.
Information from third parties:
-
Service providers — payment processors confirm transactions, shipping carriers update tracking, and analytics providers send aggregated reports.
-
Advertising partners — Meta, TikTok, Google, and similar platforms may share aggregated information about ad performance and audience matches.
-
Social media platforms — if you interact with EyeVida on social media or click into our site from a social platform, we may receive limited information depending on your privacy settings on that platform.
3. The Quiz on Our Site
Our "Take the Quiz" feature asks general questions about your beauty product habits, including some basic health-related questions (for example, sensitivity to certain products). We want to be specific about how this works:
-
Quiz answers are NOT linked to your name, email address, or any personal identifier.
-
Quiz answers are used to display a personalized result on the page during your session. We do not store individual quiz answers in a customer database.
-
Aggregate quiz statistics (for example, "60% of quiz takers reported sensitive eyes") may be analyzed for product development and marketing purposes.
-
If you reach our website through an advertising platform (such as Meta or TikTok), that platform's pixel may record that you took the quiz, but it does not receive your individual quiz answers from us.
If you are a Washington State resident, please see Section 9 for additional disclosures under the Washington My Health My Data Act.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
-
To process orders, accept payment, ship products, handle returns and exchanges, and provide customer service.
-
To create, secure, and manage your account if you have one.
-
To communicate with you about your orders, our products, and (with your consent) marketing offers.
-
To improve our website, our products, and our customer experience by analyzing aggregate usage data.
-
To personalize your experience — for example, showing you product recommendations based on what you've viewed.
-
To run advertising campaigns and measure their effectiveness.
-
To prevent fraud, secure our systems, and protect the safety of our customers and our business.
-
To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and enforce our Terms of Service.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share information in the following limited circumstances:
-
With service providers who help us operate our business — including Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment processors, shipping carriers, email and SMS marketing platforms (such as Klaviyo), customer service tools, analytics providers, and fraud prevention services. These providers are contractually limited to using your information only to perform services for us.
-
With advertising partners — including Meta, TikTok, Google, and similar platforms — for the purpose of showing you relevant advertising and measuring ad performance. Some of this sharing may be considered a "sale" or "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising" under certain state privacy laws. You can opt out — see Section 8.
-
With professional advisors — our lawyers, accountants, and similar advisors as needed.
-
In connection with a business transaction — if EyeVida is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may transfer to the new owner. We will notify you and post an update to this Policy if that happens.
-
To comply with law or protect rights — if we are legally required to share information, or if we believe sharing is necessary to protect our rights, the safety of our customers, or the public.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, web beacons, local storage) to operate our site, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and deliver advertising. Specifically:
-
Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to function. These cannot be turned off (cart functionality, checkout, security).
-
Analytics cookies — Shopify's built-in analytics and (when enabled) Google Analytics help us understand how customers use the site.
-
Advertising and marketing cookies — when active, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads tags, and Klaviyo allow us to show targeted advertising and measure performance.
You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie banner (look for the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer or the banner that appears on your first visit). You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work properly if you do.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of "sale" and "sharing" of your personal information for advertising purposes.
7. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Specifically:
-
Order and transaction records — kept for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting laws.
-
Account information — kept while your account is active, and for up to 2 years after account closure.
-
Marketing email/SMS subscribers — kept until you unsubscribe, plus a brief retention to honor suppression.
-
Customer service records — typically kept for 3 years after the last interaction.
-
Website analytics — kept in identifiable form for up to 26 months, then anonymized or deleted.
We may keep some information longer if required by law or to resolve a dispute.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
-
Right to know what personal information we have collected about you.
-
Right to access a copy of that information.
-
Right to correct inaccurate information.
-
Right to delete your information (subject to legal exceptions).
-
Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
-
Right to opt out of marketing communications at any time (use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact privacy@eyevida.com).
-
Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
-
Right to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
-
Right to appeal a denied request (we will respond to appeals within the time required by your state's law).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@eyevida.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will respond within 45 days (or as required by your state's law).
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA. We do not knowingly process "sensitive personal information" as defined under the CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.
If you are a resident of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, or Rhode Island, you have similar rights under your state's privacy law. Contact us using the email above to exercise them.
9. Special Notice for Washington State Residents
Under the Washington My Health My Data Act, we provide the following disclosures about "consumer health data":
-
The "Take the Quiz" feature on our site asks general questions that may touch on health-related topics (such as eye sensitivity or skin type). Quiz answers are not stored against your name or email.
-
We do not collect biometric data, genetic data, location data tied to health services, or other categories of consumer health data described in the Act.
-
We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it with advertising platforms in identifiable form.
-
Washington residents have the right to access, delete, and withdraw consent for any consumer health data we may hold. Contact privacy@eyevida.com to make a request.
10. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (under the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA), or from minors under 16 for sale or sharing purposes. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@eyevida.com and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, vendor due diligence, and regular review of our security practices. However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International Users
EyeVida currently ships only within the continental United States. If you visit our site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different privacy protections than your home country. By using our Services, you consent to this transfer.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice (such as an email or a prominent notice on our website). Please check back periodically.
